The amateur sports association Avis Castelbolognese is organising the 43rd edition of the international running event called 50 Km di Romagna, which will take place on 25 April 2026 in Castelbolognese (RA).

Meeting point and start
Piazza Bernardi – Castel Bolognese (RA)
8.30 a.m.: start of the competitive 50 km race
9.30 a.m.: start of the non-competitive 11 km walk
Race pack collection
At the race office in Via Garavini on the 24th from 3.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m.
and at the Town Hall on the 25th from 6.30 a.m. to 8.20 a.m.
Course
The course is a 50 km fully asphalted loop with start and finish in Castel Bolognese.
The mixed hilly course starts from Castel Bolognese, passes through Riolo Terme, Casola Valsenio, Zattaglia and Villa Vezzano, before returning to Castel Bolognese.
The course is measured and certified by FIDAL and is marked with kilometre signs every 5 km.
The course is open to traffic; therefore athletes are required to respect the Highway Code to ensure their own safety.
Certifications
The 50 km di Romagna is an internationally certified FIDAL race (ultramarathon silver level), included in the national IUTA 2026 ultramarathon calendar, valid as a race of the 23rd IUTA Grand Prix 2026 for ultramarathon and of the 13th IUTA Regional Criterium 2026 – Central Italy area.
It is part of the Romagna Triptych www.tritticodiromagna.com together with the Maratona di Russi and the 100 km del Passatore, and it is also part of the Romagna–Tuscany Challenge with the Pistoia–Abetone race.
Results will be ratified by DLT or GdA.

Refreshment stations
Refreshment stations with drinks and solid food are available every 5 km.
Personalised refreshments are guaranteed.
Eligibility
The race is open to FIDAL members for the 2026 season (Promesse, Senior, Master).
Italian and foreign athletes must be registered with FIDAL or be in possession of a RUNCARD (information at www.runcard.com).
Italian and foreign resident athletes registered with an E.P.S. must also present a RUNCARD together with a medical certificate for competitive athletics.
Foreign athletes must be registered with a federation affiliated to WA or be in possession of a RUNCARD accompanied by a medical certificate issued in accordance with Italian regulations.
The minimum age for participation is 20 years.

Transfer of entry
It will be possible to transfer one’s entry to another athlete or to the following year by notifying via email at info@50kmdiromagna.com by 12 April 2026, with a payment of €10.00 for administrative costs.

Checks
Two official chip checks are provided; any competitor found without the chip at the finish will be strictly disqualified.
The race bib must be worn with the number clearly visible.
In each location, services will be guaranteed until the passage of the last competitive runner.
Medical assistance
Along the course and at the finish: Italian Red Cross, Faenza Section, with medical and nursing staff.
Fixed medical station at km 30 (Montalbano).
Toilets and bag deposit
Gymnasium 100 m from the finish area and chemical toilets for bag deposit.
Sports hall with post-race showers 500 m from the finish.
Retirements
Sweeper service along the course and at the rear of the race.
Photographic and television service
Photographs of athletes will be taken along the course and made available for viewing and possible purchase, as well as television coverage by local broadcasters.

The first 10 overall athletes and the first in each category will be awarded on stage.
All other prize-winning athletes may collect their prize directly from the race office by consulting the finishing order posted 20 minutes after the athletes’ arrival, presenting their bib for identification.
Timing
Timing will be carried out using a disposable chip attached to the race bib.
Protests
Protests must be submitted to the FIDAL judges present, accompanied by a deposit of €100.00, which will be refunded in the event of acceptance, within 30 minutes of the publication of the results.
Declaration of responsibility
The organisation declines any responsibility for anything that may happen to competitors, third parties or property before, during or after the race.
By signing the entry form, the participant releases the organising committee from any responsibility regarding their own physical fitness to take part in the competitive race.
For all matters not covered, FIDAL regulations for the organisation of events for 2026 and the ultramarathon regulations shall apply.
